For Alain Sarfati, an educational institution must not be an austere space; on the contrary it should invite the attention to wander into art, literature or music. The architect anticipates the pleasure of those who will appropriate the space he designs: for him, each person must feel ‘awaited’ in a place that is at once familiar and new.
